Cordova Pricing
What Does a Generator Cost in Cordova?
Whole home installs in the Memphis area typically run $7,000 to $25,000+. Here's where most Cordova homes land.
Essential circuits (lights, fridge, AC unit)
Most homes under 3,000 sq ft (full house)
Larger homes, multiple HVAC zones
Large homes, home offices, medical equipment
Prices include equipment, in-house installation, transfer switch, permit fees, and our 12-year warranty. Natural gas comes from MLGW where a connection is available; propane is the alternative and adds a tank to the install.
Because GenerX employs all labor in-house, we eliminate the third-party markup that drives up installation costs elsewhere. Our buying volume across the Canter Power network means better equipment pricing than smaller dealers. The result: a higher-quality installation at a more competitive price, not a trade-off.

Frequently Asked Questions
Cordova Generator Questions, Answered
Who issues generator permits in Cordova?
Cordova is not a separate city: most of it is inside Memphis and the rest is unincorporated Shelby County. Either way, Memphis and Shelby County Construction Code Enforcement issues the permit through Develop901. GenerX pulls the permit with a licensed electrician and schedules the inspections.
What knocks out power in Cordova?
Wind and ice. The May 2017 derecho cut power to 188,000 MLGW customers and Ice Storm Landon in 2022 to more than 233,000.
Is natural gas available at my Cordova address?
Often, yes. MLGW supplies natural gas across its Shelby County territory, which includes Cordova. Where there is no gas main on your street, the generator runs on propane from a tank on your property. Your GenerX Field Engineer confirms which applies during the free estimate.
Will my Cordova HOA allow a whole home generator?
Many HOAs require architectural approval before installation. We prepare the HOA packet for you: the site drawing, the sound sheet and the screening plan, so the board has what it needs to review.
How fast can GenerX reach Cordova for repairs?
Cordova is served from our Memphis facility at 3644 Cherry Rd, about 14 miles away, with parts stocked locally. GenerX offers 24/7 emergency repair, and in a large outage our statewide fleet deploys to the Memphis area.
