How It Works

How Whole Home Generators Work

When the power drops, the generator starts on its own and the automatic transfer switch moves your circuits over to generator power. It takes a few seconds. You do not have to be home, and you do not have to do anything.

01

Your home loses power

The seamless process begins the instant your utility service is disrupted. Our advanced Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) detects the power loss and immediately isolates your home from the grid, preventing dangerous back-feeding.

02

Generator system activates

Within seconds, your standby generator starts automatically and the Automatic Transfer Switch shifts your home's circuits over to generator power — no manual steps and no waiting.

03

Home fully powered

Your home is now fully powered by your whole-home generator, and your peace of mind continues uninterrupted.

04

Utility power restored

When grid power returns, the Automatic Transfer Switch moves your home back to the utility and the generator powers down, returning to standby until the next outage.

How It Works

Your Installation Process

From ease of scheduling an appointment on your time, through onsite inspection, permitting, and installation, our turnkey process makes us the best choice around for your whole home generator installation.

Free Estimate / Proposal

A GenerX Field Engineer visits your home, reviews the electrical system, assesses your load requirements, and finds the optimal placement for the generator. Recommends the right generator size. Offers a no cost, no obligation proposal.

Preparing for Installation

GenerX handles all permit applications for the municipalities that we service. You will only need to provide a signed Notice of Commencement and a readable property survey; we manage the entire permitting process from there.

Installation Day

Your installation is handled by GenerX employees: licensed electricians, gas technicians and installers on our own payroll. The same team is there from the first site visit through the final inspection, and they answer for the work.

Testing and Training

We test the full system, including automatic transfer and load performance, then walk you through operation, set up remote monitoring, and ensure you feel confident before we leave.

Ongoing Service

Annual maintenance plans available, 24/7 emergency repair, and warranty service, all through GenerX's team. Parts stocked at our local facility. In a large outage event our statewide fleet deploys to your area.

Who We Are

The Trusted Name in Whole-Home Backup Power

Generac Prestige dealers provide the highest level of customer service, industry-leading response times, and top-tier Generac training and certification. We are proud of this honor, which is only shared by less than 1% of dealers nationwide.

Why We're Different

The GenerX Difference

No Subcontractors

Most generator companies hire third-party electricians and gas fitters for your installation. GenerX employs every technician directly. We have licensed electricians, gas specialists, and installation crews are all in-house. One point of accountability, consistent quality, and lower costs because we don't pay third-party markup.

Unique in the Market

12-Year Warranty

Every Generac air-cooled installation comes with a 12 year warranty. We can offer that because we have installed more than 25,000 generators, we stock parts in our own warehouses, and we have the technicians to service what we sell.

Longest Warranty in FL

Florida's Largest Dealer

GenerX has installed more than 25,000 generators since 2005 across Florida, Tennessee and Kentucky. That means sandy soil and coastal humidity on the Gulf, harder freezes and longer ice storm outages inland, and the permit process in every county we work in.

25,000+ FL & TN Installs

Storm-Ready Service Fleet

Hurricanes create more service calls in a week than a normal quarter. We stock parts in our own warehouses so a storm does not empty the shelves, and we move crews from unaffected areas into the counties that got hit. That is the advantage of covering a lot of ground.

FL & TN Warehouses

Quality + Value

We don't subcontract; we eliminate the third-party markup that drives up installation costs at other companies. Our buying volume as Florida's largest dealer means we get better equipment pricing than smaller dealers. The result: a higher quality installation at a more competitive price, not a trade-off.

No Hidden Third-Party Costs

Generator Specialists

GenerX does one thing: generators. Every technician, every warehouse, and every process is optimized for generator installation and service. In a market full of generalists who also do generators, specialization matters, and we are the experts.
